WEEK 2- Daily Dozen
I ended the daily dozen by attending a vegan potluck hosted by Danielle Dinkleman. She is a wellness and health coach in Springville, UT. It is inspirational how she has encourage her children and entire family to eat plant based.
The Daily Dozen was mediocre for weight loss. I loss 1 lb this week. However, I ate an average of 300kcal more than the week before. After weighing and measuring the foods on daily dozen, my average kcal intake was 1380 with 15% fat, 61% carbohydrates, and 25% protein. I never had a problem with hunger on this food plan and felt bloated most of the time. My fiber intake was an average of 33.1g. My B1, B2, B5, and B12 vitamins were low. I was surprised that my iron was approaching 100% of RDA, but last week around 50% of RDA.
I feel that daily dozen is a good weight maintenance program. However, if you want to lose weight quickly, I would recommend less carbohydrates. This week, I am going to try the current fad diet of ketogenics.
